Don't be Afraid to Ask Questions.

Hey you guys, this post is a bit off topic, but I just wanted to remind everyone about how important it is to always ask questions, and not to be afraid of asking for something you want. I've been buying from FabricEmpire and I have nothing but great things to say about this company! Last night I asked them if they could custom order my colors and they emailed me back telling me that they can! I also went out on a limb and asked for custom glass eyes from a jeweler, and they also said they'd love to! In order to achieve the "perfect" Sep suit I've had to ask a couple favors and it has worked out for the best!

I guess I just want to say, if you can't find what you're looking for, don't hesitate to ask a large company or small business to help you out!
They more than likely will!

Please check out FabricEmpire, by far the best quality, price, and service I have found online!

Taking in a suit

Hey there, it's me again to bother this community with my newb questions. P:

I'm in the process of making a test suit out of my grandmothers sheets and my mothers curtains (ahurhurhur XB) and I have all pieces sewed together, I just need to connect the two sides (front and back) to each other. I used McCalls pattern which is obviously too big, and now I ran into the error of how I'm supposed to take it in? I'm sure it's not hard, but I'm not sure how to do it, so could someone please enlighten me? If it requires me to take apart my pieces again it's ok, now that I have a sewing machine I don't care how much I have to sew/resew anymore. :P

I drew this, because this is what I'm guessing I have to do. I think I have to make the new stitch for the arm area on either the blue or the red dotted line I drew, or maybe both. Same for the leg, altho I assume to take in the leg I make a new stitch at the pink dotted line, or I might screw up the crotch area/waist area, not lining up anymore. Is this correct or am I totally wrong?

I also assume I make a new stitch at the purple dotted line if I want to take the waist in, is this correct?
And heh, MS Paint and Mousepad ftw, sorry. :B I don't know why the link is un-clickable, but you can copy and paste the link into a tab and it should open. Sorry about that, I'm not used to using Imageshack.
Link below is the illustration I was talking about:

Unsolved mystery

After an unsatisfactory furring, I re-taped up my head, cut out new pattern, transferred pattern precisely to buckram (I like the sturdiness) and then cut it out of fur. The tape pattern matches the fur pattern exactly and I didn't mirror the pattern.

At the top of the head there is 2 inches of fur missing in a perfect v stretching from between the eyes to the back of the head cast, but the rest of the pattern lines up perfectly everywhere else, Including the fur on the back of the head. It's a simple fix but I was wondering if anyone could tell me how or why this happened so I don't do it again?

Finished Platy Partial

Hi everyone.
Ok. So I finally finished the platypus partial that I was building for my friend Mallingong since last October. I posted the head before but I wanted to post the completed partial. I am so happy to finally be finished with this partial and with the fact that it turned out pretty well. Zoren Manray made the plastic mesh understructure/ moving jaw in the head, and I built the rest of the partial. I would love to know what people think of this partial so crits and comments are welcome. Thanks everyone.
Here are links to more pictures of the entire suit

Lambskin/real wool fabric?

Hey guys and gals, I have a fabric question-- I have someone who wants me to make a pillow out of lamb wool, the real stuff. I've been looking around for the fabric (is that what you would call it? I feel strange calling real wool "fabric") but I haven't been able to find anything so far.
Any help would be appreciated, price tag does not matter at the current moment.
Thanks :)

Fursuit collars

I havent been able to find a good tutorial on how to make them so far sorry if my searching skills just failed epically

How would one go about making a fursuit sized collar? I heard small belts sometimes due the trick but Ive been having a hard time finding that kinda of belt :c

Or does anyone know anywhere I can buy a collar that big?
