Snag in the plan

I really hate running into bumps during construction :/

I just made Sammy's antlers from a gray vinyl, stuffed them and stuck a knitting needle up inside to act like a spine to keep them from bending. I mounted them with some carved foam at the base of the antler and glued it onto a piece of foam core board which was then attached to the crown of the head.

My head is a full foam base, and i don't know any other way to mount them. I just test fitted the head and the horns are a bit too heavy :( When i move my head in any direction i can feel the horns pulling down or backwards and that will cause neck strain quickly...I don't know of any other way to go about making them, if at all possible id like to keep the ones ive made, but im willing to take them off to fix the problem. Any suggestions?

If these are doomed to fail, does anyone know where i could purchase some light weight antler casts that i could spray paint silver to match the design? Again that doesn't eliminate the problem of mounting them to a foam head, how does one do it? Does anyone here sell antler casts?

Problem solved, thanks for the input! I decided to gowith my original idea and use batting and a lighter, toony fabric and it turned out great :D

The Bone Room

I just wanted to share a very interesting website I've known about for a while now. I've never actually ordered anything from them myself, but as a person who's interested in taxidermy (and fursuiting, of course) I've had a lot of fun looking through their stuff. Even if you can't find anything you want from them, it's worth a look just for fun. :)

Got my Beetlecat Partial in the mail today!

Hey all!

I'm not at all new to the fandom, but totally new to suiting. My Beetlecat fursuit partial that I bought off of someone 2nd hand has arrived today and well, it's going to take some getting used to! The head is really really heavy because of all of the dreadlocks and I'm clausterphobic so the head really gets me. I know it'll just take some practice and I'll get used to it in no time. :) Same with the hooves. Gonna have to get used to walking in those! Any tips would be awesome!

Also my jaw is too big for the moving jaw to work with my mouth. Does anyone have any ideas for how I can fix this?

So, I bestow upon you some crappy pictures from my phone! xD
