How DO you make those Animal Costumes? (Fursuits)
Not mentioned in the Memories section? Washing suits with padding?

I looked in the Memories section, but didn't find anything that could answer the following questions. I've always heard that getting the padding/stuffing/foam wet is bad and that it is a pain in the tail to dry as well as prevent mold. Any and all advice about washing/drying padding/stuffing/foam is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

When washing a fursuit that may have padding sewn directly in the suit (i.e. non removable) such as for digitigrade legs or somewhere else, How would you go about washing that suit and/or drying those particular areas that have padding sewn in? Wouldn't the padding take forever to dry and there also be the possibility of mold?

I've also heard in the past of people putting footpaws in the wash. Wouldn't that be bad also as it would take forever for the foam to dry?

What about people who have dive skins or other undersuit garments where the padding/foam was sewn/glued directly to those garments rather than the bodysuit? How would you go about washing/drying the dive skin/garments?

Any tips or suggestions for fursuit bodysuits that have the tails directly sewn to the bodysuit? How would you wash that? How would the padding/stuffing in the tail be removable?

I can't speak for padded legs, but my suit has the foot paws attached and I washed it in the bathtub. It takes a good 10 hours for the foot paws to dry, just set a big box fan on high, point it at the suit, and about ones an hour squeeze the water out (because all the water from the rest of the suit will get abosorbed into the foam) Once its dry disinfect it, store it.
