How DO you make those Animal Costumes? (Fursuits)
smooth on 325 issues?

I just recently ordered smoothons smooth cast 325 resin and poured some into my resin mold. I noticed it is a little different than cast 300. Is it supposed to take longer to cure than 300? Right now inside the mold it *seems* like it is dry, like it isnt runny or sticky but it is definately flimsy. When I press a finger into it it isn't hard but none of the liquid sticks to my finger either. Also is its Color supposed to stay clear or dry white like 300? Which do you guys prefer to use 300 or 325? (Btw this is a resin head cast of a wolf.) Did I just not mix this stuff right or is it no good to use?
thanks for any help an input on this. Ive used 300 everytime before and wanted to try 325 thinking it might be better. I may be wrong though, thanks guys! :)

sounds like you did everything correctly, that's just how 325 is. 325 is made so it can be accurately pigmented, so unlike 300 it does not cure white.

if you want to try something besides 300, 65D is made for roto-casting (which is basically what you're doing in a mask mold)

Aye, 325 does that. It's mostly teh reason why I stopped using it. Give it over night and it will cure solid.

Awesome thanks to you both. :) guess this will be the only time I use 325.

It's supposed to have the same demold time as the 300, but I find it often goes through a stage where it's more like a very stale gummy bear before it hardens completely, especially in thinner sections. If it's not actually sticky, just give it a while longer and it should set hard.

I rarely use 325 without adding pigment or various powders, but it's translucent when set, not clear.
