How DO you make those Animal Costumes? (Fursuits)
Realistic buckram eyes?
2nd-Sep-2019 01:58 pm
For my fursuit head I'm planning on going for a realistic style, but with follow-me buckram eyes rather than the much smaller tearduct vision. I tried looking up examples of this for days, but found literally nothing. Is there a reason nobody's done this, or is it just something nobody's thought of yet? I'm assuming it would work exactly like toony eyes, just painted realistically.

I swear I've seen realistic suits with buckram eyes before, but I can't remember where. :\

It might just be a matter of preference. Resin eyes are shiny and it's easier to paint or print the design on paper then glue them to the back of the eye, rather than painting small details directly on buckram.
I would also assume that it would be hard to see out of eyes that are placed far apart like a realistic fursuit head has, but I've never made or worn a realistic head before so I don't really know.

The base I'm working with isn't too realistic, although I was going to use realistic colors and furs (like the faux animal fur):

It's modified to be somewhat realistic, although the eyes and such should be large enough to see out of
